We For She 2016: Championing the Next Generation, was a conference in Vancouver that we sponsored on October 14, 2016. The event brought together women's organizations, companies, experts, business leaders, advocates and young women to advance gender equality. The conference aimed to grow the provincial economy by giving young women a greater understanding of their career options, expanding their confidence, and giving them a chance to meet dynamic and successful role models.

As part of their larger goal of advancing gender equality, We For She aimed to spread the conversations happening at the conference beyond the Vancouver Convention Centre to a larger audience of potential advocates. They also hoped to identify influential people who aligned with the cause for further outreach and program development. Lastly, they wanted to understand which issues and solutions resonated most with their audience by listening to what attendees were saying online.

We sponsored We For She by donating a social Stream that allowed the organizers to collect every mention of their event across all major social networks. If an attendee (or onlooker) posted with #WeForSheBC, mentioned "We For She", posted within the convention centre or was an approved sponsor, we collected their content for review and display by We For She's team. After automatically moderating profanity and hate speech, We For She projected the content in real time on a massive screen at the centre of the convention, bridging the on- and offline conversations. This presence inspired attendees to spark discussions with their own networks by posting and reminded them about the official hashtag. Over 1500 posts were created during event day, equating to one for every attendee of the conference, and resulting in #WeForSheBC trending across North America throughout the entire event. Armed with this collection of posts, the We For She team could identify common threads of discussion and influential members of the community, and reach out with thanks and invitations for future collaborations - all directly through the platform.
